The difference between TPE yoga mats and PVC yoga mats? TPE foam mats are primarily composed of TPE, EVA, and synthetic rubber, with higher production costs, advanced manufacturing processes, and high industry entry barriers. These mats offer superior product quality, ample elasticity, softness, and high slip resistance. Free of plastic, they are easily decomposable and are currently a highly favored product, beloved by environmental advocates. TPE mats can now reach a thickness of 10 millimeters.
PVC foam mats, on the other hand, are more widely available, with lower prices, diverse colors, reduced production costs, simpler manufacturing processes, and ease of customization with customer-specific logos, making them popular among the general public. However, their drawback is that plastic products are not easily decomposable, leading to environmental pollution.

Difference one: TPE Mats Have a Longer Lifespan
TPE mats are more durable than PVC mats, with a lifespan approximately four to five times that of PVC. In terms of cost-effectiveness, PVC mats are more economical.
Difference Two: TPE mats offer superior slip resistance and elasticity. Once you purchase a TPE mat, you don’t have to worry about its slip resistance or elasticity. Mats made from this material excel in slip resistance, elasticity, and craftsmanship, surpassing those made from PVC. Even when sweating, they remain non-slip.
Difference Three: The odor of new TPE mats can dissipate, whereas lower-quality PVC mats cannot. Does this mean TPE mats are odor-free? Not quite—new TPE mats may still retain some inherent material odor (unless the seller has pre-ventilated the mats). However, there's no need to worry, as this odor does not persist like that of inferior mats. For newly purchased TPE mats, simply open them and store them in a well-ventilated, cool place for one or two days to eliminate the smell. (Important note: Never expose them to direct sunlight!) With lower-quality mats, no amount of time will dissipate the odor.
Difference Four: TPE mats are made from TPE material, which demands high technical and raw material standards during production, making them more expensive than PVC mats. Currently, there are only a few domestic factories capable of producing TPE mats, with most materials being imported from Taiwan. In contrast, PVC mats come in a wide variety of types and prices, ranging from a dozen to several dozen yuan. TPE mats, however, typically cost over a hundred yuan or even several hundred yuan. Nevertheless, higher-quality PVC mats are never available for just twenty to thirty yuan.
